The ALA Queen Creek Ballroom Team has been performing and competing at a National Level for over 3 years but they feel that this year change is needed. We are excited to announce that our team has been approved to go to Swaziland, South Africa in replacement of our normal competition in March 2017. We commitment to this cause and know that the power behind service, character and sharing dance through all means is essential as we strive to make this trip truly life changing for all who are involved.
We feel the students MUST work and earn as much of the trip as possible. Each member of the team is required to earn their own money for the bulk of the trip. They are required to use a fundraising log to keep track of what jobs they will be doing and whom they will be working with.
As a team we have committed to earn the money needed to purchase flights for these students. Also, as we continued to connect to the many options offered within South Africa, we found a group (Kwakha Indvodza) seeking to change the challenges within the homes of Africa and the community. We have joined with Kwakha Indvodza to raise money to build a new community center to help further their efforts.
We understand the many, many experiences that are happening in so many people’s lives. This is truly insignificant to those many stories that hold so much trauma and challenges. But we also feel the push to give these students an experience that could open their eyes to not only to needs outside of themselves but to the power of humanity and how connected the world truly is. Please take a moment to visit our Go Fund Me Pages and see how you can help! We appreciate any assistance that can be given.
