Welcome to our Ironwood 7-12 Campus
Tech team wins 1st Place!!
American Leadership Academy Ironwood High School students participated in an after school Tech Team in conjunction with the Pinal County ESA sponsored MAD APP Competition. Our students did an amazing job and placed 1st out of all the entries. Way to go Warriors!
This group of students learned how to create informational apps for mobile devices on a platform called MAD-learn. They spent the first part of the school year meeting once a week to learn the platform and make their own apps. In April, we began the competition part of the experience. Students worked together to create a mobile app based on the needs of Florence City Parks and Recreation Department. This group was student led and motivated. They met twice a week for the last month and presented their app to a group of industry professionals on May 4th. Students were graded on a rubric based on Content, Appeal, Engagement, User Friendly Functionality, Presentation Delivery, and Presentation Preparation.

Our Innovative Curriculum
In grades K-8, the curriculum is structured in the Core Knowledge Sequence, which outlines the knowledge to be taught at each grade level. The curriculum is structured in a coherent, cumulative and content specific way, so students build knowledge in language arts, math, science, history, geography, and fine arts. In grades 9-12, the curriculum builds on the foundation built in the younger grades and is intended to provide students with a rich, traditional high school experience.
