Leadership Program

Our RAISE leadership program integrates our core values into a curriculum that actively promotes leadership, with weekly lessons and daily exercises assembled from the works of prominent human development experts, like Stephen R. Covey, Jim Collins, and John Maxwell.

Leadership Visits

Ms. Alycesun Clare is excited to serve as the new Director of Leadership at American Leadership Academy. As the Director of Leadership, Alycesun incorporates the ALA Leadership Curriculum and RAISE Enhancement program for grades K-6th through Leadership Binders and Leadership Duties.

For grades 7-12th, she has enhanced and developed a Leadership RAISE program incorporating community, classroom, and individual goals. She visits the Arizona campuses on a monthly basis and has also instigated a six-session Professional Development Leadership Course for ALA Staff.

While Leadership holds an overarching and generic vibe, Alycesun feels the power of leadership is personal. When one knows who they are and why they do what they do, their ability to change lives is natural and effective. At ALA, we desire to build natural leaders who see the power of leadership and more specifically how they, personally, can learn, lead, and change the world.

Alycesun joined ALA in August of 2010. She started ALA’s first dance program using space in the front parking lot of ALA’s initial strip-mall high school. Her incorporation of Ballroom and Leadership continued to grow with ALA into a thriving program and culture. ALA’s Ballroom Team at Queen Creek has now attended Nationals over the past four years and consistently achieved 1st and 2nd National Rankings.

Alycesun received her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Dance Education and Communications from Brigham Young University Idaho. She completed her Masters in Educational Leadership at the University of Buckingham in London, England in May of 2017. Alycesun is passionate about humanitarian service and has traveled to Africa, Guatemala, Peru and most recently South Africa with ALA’s Ballroom Team.
