Meet Our Director:
Stephen Trejo has served in education for over 26 years as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, principal/director mentor/coach, chief academic officer, and presenter/evaluator for the National Center for Urban School Transformation and the Arizona Educational Foundation.
He is thrilled to work closely with students, families, teachers and school staff. He has experienced the fun, excitement and passion created by a shared mission which unleashes the combined energy, talents, and capacities of all involved.
His overarching desire is to cultivate conditions that empower all educational stakeholders so that every child is inspired to reach their potential by developing their innate creativity, talents, skills and initiative.
Stephen Trejo is a very fortunate husband and father, who with his loving wife Malia, celebrated their thirty-third wedding anniversary last month. They are the proud parents of five beautiful daughters (four outstanding sons-in-law) and one amazing son.
They are also grandparents of two delightful grandchildren with two more on the way before Christmas. He is a fourth generation Arizonan who relocated to Queen Creek two years ago to begin work with ALA. In his free time, he loves to spend time with family, travel, read, exercise and cook.
