Meet Our Director:

Mrs. Melissa (Missy) Cowper is honored to serve as director of the San Tan Valley Elementary campus. She has been a part of the ALA family for four years, teaching 6th grade for three years and one year as Assistant Director.

She earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in addition to a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She has worked the past 14 years in education with a highly diverse population, four years at ALA, five years in rural Kentucky, one year in a Phoenix area school and three years in Detroit-suburb schools servicing inner-city youth.

She was born and raised in St. Clair, Michigan where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Matt. They have two sons, Noah, a fifth grader at San Tan Valley and Isaac, who will celebrate his first birthday this August. They have lived in Arizona for four years and together enjoy camping, traveling, and spending time outdoors.

She is energized at the opportunity to serve our Warriors to “Learn. Lead. Change the World!”

Our Vision:Our Mission:
