Meet Our Director:
Chad McLeod has been a professional educator for 14 years, but an advocate of youth for his entire adult life. Chad and Crystal have five children and have lived in San Tan Valley for 9 years. He was born in the Big Sky country of Montana, but spent his teenage years in Yuma, AZ, where he was a Boy Scout, played sports, sang in the choir, and graduated from high school. His life adventures from there have taken him to the rainforests of Central America, to ice hockey rinks, to England, to marriage and parenthood, to classrooms and pulpits, and from mountain tops to desert flats with scouts. Mr. McLeod began his career in education teaching Social Studies and coaching in Morgan, UT. After a few year, he and his college sweetheart had the opportunity to travel with two small children to the United Kingdom, receiving a Master’s Degree in Organization, Planning and Management in Education from the University of Reading, about 40 miles west of London. It was a wonderful experience for the young family. Upon their return to the States, Mr. McLeod moved his family back to sunny Arizona, closer to both sets of grandparents. For 9 years, Mr. McLeod worked for Benjamin Franklin Charter Schools in the Queen Creek area. While at Franklin, he has taught Social Studies and Language Arts, coached several different sports at the junior high and high school, and served as a K-6 Elementary Principal. Mr. McLeod’s range of educational experiences also include teaching at Ottawa University in the Department of Education and assisting his wife as she created curriculum for a pre-school they have run out of their home. Mr. McLeod and his wife are active in their community and church youth groups. He has spent many years working with the Boy Scouts of America, serving in various leadership positions and spending a lot of time on outings. He believes that the youth of America are the future of this great nation and loves working with, inspiring, and being inspired by them. Chad and Crystal are excited to be a part of the American Leadership Academy family.
