Our Growth
American Leadership Academy was founded in 2009, based on our mission to provide the best educational experience to as many students as possible in a moral and wholesome environment. We wanted to create a school where we’d be comfortable sending our own children—where we could feel confident that they were learning everything they needed to learn to succeed in school and in life, without the distractions and problems students face in other schools.
Our message has resonated with other parents, too. Now, from our small beginnings, we’ve expanded our organization to bring ALA to a number of communities and families. Through it all, we have worked to bring to life our vision to learn, lead, and change the world.
Glenn Way, Founder of American Leadership Academy
Glenn Way founded American Leadership Academy (ALA) with a vision centered on providing families with an exceptional K-12 educational experience that emphasizes choice, excellence, and values-based learning. Motivated by a desire to protect the family unit and inspire the youth of America to discover their purpose, Glenn envisioned schools where students could grow emotionally and academically in a moral and wholesome environment.
Believing that every child is created to do something special, he sought to reform education from the inside out by disrupting traditional models and raising the bar for academic and character development. His focus is not just on helping students become the best in their chosen professions but also on nurturing them to be the best spouses, parents, and community leaders.
To turn this vision into reality, Glenn established Charter One, an Education Management Organization dedicated to supporting schools like ALA. Through close collaboration with families and educators, Charter One delivers a high-quality, values-based curriculum that emphasizes traditional education while cultivating patriotic, civic-minded leaders. Rooted in the R.A.I.S.E. leadership values—Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Service, and Excellence—both ALA and Charter One are committed to shaping students into future leaders who are strong, educated, and confident.
