Fine Arts at ALA Anthem South
Fine Arts at American Leadership Academy Anthem South give students the opportunity to create, perform, develop new skills, and share their talents with our school community. Across the Anthem South experience, the arts complement our core academics by helping students strengthen creativity, communication, discipline, collaboration, and confidence.

Fine Arts Across the Grade Levels
Elementary School (K–5)
For our youngest learners, creative experiences help develop imagination, confidence, concentration, and an early appreciation for the arts. As part of a well-rounded educational framework, this early exposure helps K–5 students discover creative interests they can continue to explore as they transition into junior high and high school.
Junior High and High School (Grades 6–12)
As students move into the upper school, Fine Arts becomes a more focused part of the academic experience alongside athletics, clubs, and leadership activities. Students can pursue their passions through specialized courses, band, visual arts, and campus exhibitions.
For high school students, Fine Arts also plays a vital role in graduation planning. ALA’s standard diploma pathway includes a required credit in CTE/Fine Arts. Students are encouraged to work with Student Services to determine exactly how Fine Arts courses fit within their academic and graduation plans.
Music and Band
Music gives students the opportunity to develop individual skills while contributing to a larger group. Participating in the school band or an ensemble teaches students that personal preparation directly impacts the success of the entire performance. Through our music experiences, students practice:
- Listening and musical awareness
- Rhythm and timing
- Preparation and discipline
- Ensemble collaboration and following direction
- Performance confidence
- Responsibility to a group
Visual Arts and Student Exhibitions
Visual arts give students opportunities to communicate ideas, experiment with techniques, develop artistic judgment, and create work that reflects their own perspective.
Anthem South has provided students with opportunities to display original artwork publicly. In May 2025, the 6–12 campus hosted an ALA Anthem South Art Exhibit at the Franklin Road campus, giving student artists an opportunity to share their work with families and the community.
Exhibitions add another dimension to classroom creativity. Students move from developing an idea and completing a piece to presenting finished work for others to experience.
