ALA Applied Technologies Celebrates Welding Shop Grand Opening

On Thursday, February 26, 2026, ALA Applied Technologies officially opened its new welding shop with a torch-cutting ceremony that put students and skilled trades front and center.

Executive Director Carla Way addressed attendees before the ceremonial ribbon was cut using a welding torch—marking a milestone moment for the school’s growing Career and Technical Education programs. Guests toured the new welding bays, designed to give students hands-on experience in a professional shop setting.

The new facility expands opportunities for students to earn industry-recognized certifications while completing their high school coursework, preparing them for immediate entry into the workforce or continued technical training.
