ALA Applied Technologies to Open New Welding Shop with Torch-Cutting Ceremony
ALA Applied Technologies High School will celebrate the grand opening of its brand-new welding shop on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 1 p.m. In a first-of-its-kind event, students will take center stage by cutting the ceremonial ribbon using a welding torch, followed by live welding demonstrations and guided tours of the new state-of-the-art welding bays.
The Welding Program follows the NC3 curriculum powered by Lincoln Electric, giving students the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications and badges while completing their high school coursework. Students graduate not only with a diploma, but with credentials that prepare them for immediate entry into the workforce or continued technical training.
Media and community members are invited to attend the ceremony at ALA Applied Technologies High School, 7729 E. Pecos Road, Mesa, AZ 85212. Program leaders and students will be available for interviews as the school highlights its commitment to hands-on career education and student success.
