EL students in grades K through 6 benefit from small group interventions implemented by a teacher who specializes in English language development. The pull-out program is supplemented by Lexia, an adaptive computer program that enhances a student’s listening, reading, and writing skills.
Students in grades 7-12 participate in a specially-designed online course with additional guidance and instruction from a teacher who specializes in English language development. The course focuses on the domains of reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The course is designed to support students’ acquisition of the English language specifically through discourse practices, grammatical structures, writing, vocabulary, and reading skills necessary for successful participation in academic tasks across the content areas.
Our goal is to help English Language Learners succeed and thrive—academically and socially.
We want all our students—and their families—to feel comfortable at ALA. If you have any questions about our ELL program, schedule a tour to learn more. We’d love to meet you and show you how we help our students achieve their goals.
