Letter From the Director

Letter From the Director

Dan Provonsha has been with ALA for more than six years. During his first three years, he served as the Director of ALA Queen Creek Elementary. He then transferred to ALA Gilbert North High School to be its Assistant Director. His extensive experience in education coupled with his desire and commitment to utilize the strengths of those around him has positively influenced ALA’s ability to learn, lead, and change the world!

Prior to joining American Leadership Academy, Mr. Provonsha taught physics and other science classes for fourteen years at Highland High School in Gilbert. Mr. Provonsha earned a B.S. in Physical Science Teaching from Brigham Young University, a master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, and a second master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arizona State University.

Mr. Provonsha has been married for twenty years to Marsha Provonsha who is an 8th grade English teacher at ALA Queen Creek High School. They have four children who attend the ALA at its Queen Creek campus. When he isn’t supporting teachers or mentoring students, Mr. Provonsha can be found hiking the Superstition or San Tan Mountains, running, or enjoying his kids' activities. He also sings baritone in his professional men’s acapella group.

While serving as Director at ALA Queen Creek Elementary, the school’s AzMerit proficiency scores increased from 53% to 64%, and he led the school to its first A letter grade. Mr. Provonsha looks to guide ALA Gilbert North High School to have similar academic success, while also building championship sports programs and superior fine arts programs.
