Meet Gilbert North's 7-12 Director of Bands
Tucker Rother comes to us from Lewisburg, Ohio. Growing up in a rural farm town, Tucker quickly gained a passion for music education at an early age by participating in his highly successful band at Tri-County North Local Schools.
In his busy and blossoming career, Tucker has worked for several bands across the state of Ohio. In addition to his educational aspirations, he has also served as a music arranger, at both the high school and collegiate levels. Tucker served as the Principal Euphonium in ensembles at both Northern Arizona University, as well as Wright State University. Other performing ensembles include University Honor Bands and other Civic bands, on both euphonium and french horn.
Of all of these ventures, Tucker’s most prominent position was his time spent at Tri-County North Local Schools, where he served as the Assistant Band Director and Music Arranger. Tucker would arrange music for up to five marching band shows per season, and assist the director in ensuring the program remained at a consistent level of advanced and high-energy performance.
Prominent mentors in Tucker’s career include Dr. Steven Darling, Dan Honaker, Dr. Gretchen McNamera, Bill Jobert, Susan Chambers, Kirsten Showers, and Terra Moniaci.
Tucker is very excited to get to work, where he will oversee the concert bands from grades 7-12, as well as the marching band.
