Welcome to American Leadership Academy Gilbert North
Tuition-Free K-12 Charter School located in Gilbert, Arizona
American Leadership Academy Gilbert North is a K–12 public charter school community in Gilbert, Arizona, with two neighboring campuses on Higley Road near the San Tan 202.
Students begin at the K–6 campus at 1010 S. Higley Rd. and can continue into junior high school and high school at the 7–12 campus at 1070 S. Higley Rd. Both schools share the Eagle identity, ALA’s mission, and the R.A.I.S.E. values of Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.

Academics That Grow With the Student
What students need from school changes a lot between kindergarten and senior year.
Younger students need strong literacy and mathematics foundations, broad knowledge, structured routines, and enough practice to build confidence.
By junior high school and high school, students need more independence and more choice. They begin making decisions about electives, advanced courses, college credit, career interests, and graduation.
Gilbert North’s neighboring K–6 and 7–12 campuses allow those expectations to change while students remain part of the same broader school community.

ALA’s mission begins with a clear phrase:

At Gilbert North, the questions families ask change as students grow. Elementary families may be thinking about reading progress, classroom habits, gifted testing, activities, or before- and after-school care. By high school, the conversation has moved to credits, AP classes, Dual Enrollment, college applications, athletics, Fine Arts, career pathways, scholarships, and graduation. The student becomes more independent. The family still matters.
Our Founder
Glenn Way, Founder of American Leadership Academy
Glenn Way founded American Leadership Academy with the belief that education should prepare students for more than a profession.
His vision connects academic development with character, leadership, family, citizenship, and the responsibilities students will eventually carry as adults. The current Gilbert North sites continue to frame ALA’s mission around strong academics in a moral and wholesome environment.
At Gilbert North, that philosophy shows up in classrooms, gifted learning, student leadership, Fine Arts, athletics, Speech & Debate, service, and future planning.
Students are preparing for a career. They are also becoming people.

School looks very different in kindergarten than it does during senior year. ALA Gilbert North gives families a K–12 path where students can build their foundations, discover interests, take on greater responsibility, and eventually prepare for whatever comes after graduation.
Families in Gilbert and surrounding East Valley communities are invited to visit both campuses, meet the school teams, and see what life as an Eagle looks like for themselves.
