Art
At American Leadership Academy, Gilbert South Pre-K-6, our art class provides a beneficially comprehensive visual arts program. Ties to interdisciplinary and multi-cultural connections are strongly stressed as students engage in the hands-on experience of producing works of art using a variety of media while applying acquired concepts and skills. Art lessons are enhanced with the integration of art history reflecting art periods, styles, specific works of art and artists. Constructive art criticism is explored through describing, analyzing, interpreting and making decisions about their own artwork and that of others.
Mrs. Southam, our art teacher, hosts an annual show stopping art show where your child’s best work is displayed. Students and families look forward to this event every year. Throughout the school year, you can view our student artwork in our media center.
