A Strong Start Begins Here

The kindergarten year shapes how children view school, learning, and their own abilities. At American Leadership Academy, families can now choose between full-day and half-day (AM or PM) kindergarten beginning in the 2026–2027 school year. Each program is intentionally designed to build academic readiness, confidence, and positive classroom habits while supporting the needs of growing families.

Half-Day Kindergarten (AM or PM)

The half-day program delivers the same academic focus within a shorter, carefully structured timeframe — approximately 3.5 hours. It is an excellent option for families who prefer a gradual transition into formal schooling while ensuring their child receives high-quality instruction.

Why Choose Half Day?

Why families choose half-day:

  • Gentle introduction to classroom routines
  • Ideal for younger kindergarteners or first-time students
  • Allows more family time during the day
  • Supports developmental readiness without overwhelming schedules
  • Though the day is shorter, the learning remains purposeful, engaging, and aligned with ALA’s academic standards and R.A.I.S.E. values

Full-Day Kindergarten

Full-day kindergarten provides a balanced, enriching experience that allows students to dive deeper into academics while enjoying the rhythm of a complete school day. With more instructional time, teachers can reinforce key concepts, provide targeted support, and create meaningful opportunities for exploration.

Why Choose Full Day?

Why families choose full-day:

  • Greater instructional time strengthens early literacy and math skills
  • Predictable structure helps children adapt to elementary school expectations
  • More opportunities for collaboration, friendship, and independence
  • Enrichment activities support both academic and social development
  • Full-day kindergarten is often a strong fit for students ready for a comprehensive educational environment and families seeking a consistent daily schedule.

Choosing the Right Fit for Your Child

Every child enters kindergarten with unique strengths, personality traits, and learning needs. Some thrive in a full-day setting filled with activity and interaction, while others benefit from a shorter schedule that builds stamina over time.

Both programs emphasize:

  • Strong academic foundations
  • Positive classroom culture
  • Character development aligned with ALA values
  • Experienced, supportive teachers
  • A safe and engaging learning environment
