Leadership & R.A.I.S.E. Values

Our R.A.I.S.E. Values

At American Leadership Academy (ALA), our commitment to fostering well-rounded individuals is encapsulated in our core R.A.I.S.E. values: Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. These principles are not merely aspirational; they are actively integrated into our curriculum and daily practices to cultivate strong, educated, and confident leaders.

At ALA, these R.A.I.S.E. values are more than just words; they are the principles that guide our actions and define who we are as a community. By integrating these values into every aspect of our educational approach, we aim to develop leaders who are not only academically proficient but also morally grounded and socially responsible.

Explore how each element of R.A.I.S.E. uniquely contributes to nurturing students who excel academically, personally, and as influential leaders in their communities:

Respect: Building a Foundation of Mutual Esteem

Respect is the cornerstone of our community. We emphasize the importance of treating every individual—be it teachers, students, staff, or families—with dignity and kindness. By fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and heard, we lay the groundwork for effective collaboration and a positive learning atmosphere. This mutual respect not only enhances classroom interactions but also prepares our students to engage empathetically in diverse societal contexts.

Accountability: Cultivating Responsibility and Excellence

Accountability is integral to personal and academic growth. At ALA, we instill a sense of responsibility in our students by holding them answerable for their actions and commitments. Educators and staff lead by example, upholding high standards and ensuring that our classrooms and lessons meet or exceed state educational benchmarks. This culture of accountability encourages continuous improvement and empowers students to take ownership of their learning journey.

Integrity: Nurturing Honesty and Strong Moral Principles

Integrity involves steadfast adherence to moral and ethical principles. We expect honesty and consistency between words and actions from all members of our school community. By modeling and teaching integrity, we create an environment of trust where students learn the importance of doing the right thing, even in challenging situations. This emphasis on ethical behavior shapes our students into principled individuals who contribute positively to society.

Service: Encouraging Community Engagement and Empathy

Service is a vital component of leadership. We actively seek and organize opportunities for students to engage in acts of service, both within the school and in the broader community. Whether through volunteering, mentorship programs, or community projects, students experience the value of contributing to something greater than themselves. These experiences foster humility, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to civic responsibility.

Excellence: Striving for Continuous Improvement

Excellence is not a destination but a continuous pursuit. We hold ourselves and our students to high standards, encouraging constant improvement in all endeavors. This commitment to excellence permeates our academic programs, extracurricular activities, and personal development initiatives. By fostering a mindset that always seeks growth and learning, we prepare our students to navigate future challenges successfully and make meaningful contributions in their chosen paths.

Raising Our Students to Be Strong, Educated, and Confident Leaders

At American Leadership Academy, we don’t just teach our students to be smart—we R.A.I.S.E. them to be leaders.

Our R.A.I.S.E leadership values program integrates our core values into a curriculum that actively promotes leadership, with weekly lessons and daily exercises assembled from the works of prominent human development experts, like Stephen R. Covey, Jim Collins, and John Maxwell.

This curriculum allows students to develop leadership qualities and skills that will benefit them in the classroom, the community, the family, and beyond.
