Welcome to American Leadership Academy Radiance
Tuition-Free Pre-K-12 Charter School located in Mesa, Arizona
American Leadership Academy Radiance is a tuition-free public charter school serving students from Pre-K through 12th grade. ALA Radiance gives families the opportunity to grow with one school system, one shared mission, and one values-based culture from the earliest years through graduation.
Radiance also introduces a flexible schedule model created to give families more choice. Families may select either a traditional 5 day school week or a 4 day school week, while students continue receiving the same core instruction and strong academic experience ALA families expect.

This approach allows us to provide greater flexibility for families while also creating dedicated time for students who benefit from additional support and enrichment.

What is a Charter School?
American Leadership Academy Radiance is a tuition-free public charter school. Charter schools are public schools that offer families another educational option while operating with greater flexibility in areas such as curriculum, school culture, and instructional approach.
At ALA Radiance, that flexibility allows us to provide a values-based education focused on academic excellence, leadership, character, and family partnership.
Our Story
American Leadership Academy Radiance was created with a vision to serve families in the growing Apache Junction and southeast Mesa communities. As more families make this area home, ALA saw an opportunity to build more than a school. The goal was to create a place where students could learn, families could feel supported, and the community could grow stronger together.
Radiance is designed to be a true Pre-K–12 school community, giving students the chance to begin their education here and continue growing through senior year. From the first days of early learning to the final steps toward graduation, students can walk the same halls, build lasting friendships, develop strong character, and become part of a school culture rooted in learning, leadership, and service.
Our hope is that ALA Radiance becomes a trusted fixture in the community: a place where families gather, students are known, and generations of children are shaped by the experiences they have here. We want Radiance to be remembered not only for strong academics, but for the way it supports families, serves the community, and helps students grow into people who are prepared to make a difference.
Our Founder
Glenn Way, Founder of American Leadership Academy
Glenn Way founded American Leadership Academy (ALA) with the vision of providing an exceptional K-12 educational experience for his family and community. Motivated by a desire to protect the family unit and help the youth of America understand who they are meant to be, he envisioned a school that fosters personal growth and self-expression in a moral and wholesome environment inclusive of a values-based curriculum. Glenn believes that every child is created to do something extraordinary, and education should be the platform that helps them discover their best selves.
Driven by concerns about the current state of education, Glenn sought to reform the system from the inside out. He wanted to disrupt traditional education by raising the bar and focusing not just on academic excellence but also on developing students into future leaders who value being great spouses and parents by providing them with the opportunity to grow emotionally and academically.
