Fine Arts at ALA Sierra Vista

Fine Arts at American Leadership Academy Sierra Vista give students another way to learn, create, and share their work.

Through visual art and creative electives, students develop the focus, patience, and problem-solving skills that come from practicing the creative process over time. Visual art is an active part of the Sierra Vista student experience, highlighted by our campus Art Exhibition—a showcase that invites families to celebrate the creativity, effort, and skill students build throughout the school year.

A Pathway to Success

Arts, Character, and Graduation

Fine Arts are an active part of a student’s high school graduation plan. ALA's current graduation requirements include one credit in CTE/Fine Arts across all diploma pathways.

Beyond the transcript, creative work provides a natural environment for students to put ALA's R.A.I.S.E. values into action. Whether they are treating other people's work with respect, helping with a shared campus exhibition, or striving for excellence by revising instead of settling for their first attempt, students learn that true creativity requires practice and persistence.

The performance may be the visible part, but most of the learning happens before anyone ever sees it. Fine Arts give students hands-on practice with skills that extend well beyond a single concert or production:

Creative work is rarely perfect the first time. That is exactly the point. Students rehearse, revise, adjust, and try again. Eventually, something that was difficult becomes something they confidently know how to do.

Find Your Creative Path at Sierra Vista

Some students know early that art is going to be part of their life. Others find out because they tried an elective they almost did not take. ALA Sierra Vista gives students opportunities to explore their creativity, whether they want to develop new visual art skills, practice the creative process, or share their hard work at our campus Art Exhibition.

Because specific Fine Arts and elective offerings can vary by school year, families should review the current junior high or high school course catalog when choosing creative electives, and work closely with Student Services when a Fine Arts course is being used as part of a graduation plan.
