Vision & Core Values

At ALA Signal Butte our purpose boils down to one bold promise: Learn. Lead. Change the World. We pursue that promise by threading our R.A.I.S.E. valuesRespect, Accountability, Integrity, Service, and Excellence—through every lesson, handshake, and morning announcement. Students leave with more than strong test scores; they carry a clear moral compass and the confidence to steer their own futures while lifting the people around them.

Academic Excellence & Enrichment

At ALA Signal Butte,  academics are both a challenge and an invitation. We offer a rigorous curriculum crafted by teachers that stretch young minds—integrating hands-on STEM labs, lively reading workshops, and real-world problem-solving—while still tailoring support to each learner’s pace and goals. Small-group instruction and frequent check-ins keep every child on a clear path forward.

Learning doesn’t clock out when the final bell rings. With out extracurricular activities, students can pick up a paintbrush in our fine-arts classroom, or join clubs that range from robotics to creative writing. These programs do more than fill schedules; they build confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong curiosity that matches our rigorous classroom standards.

Leadership in Action

We don’t treat leadership as a buzzword; we treat it as a daily habit. In every grade at ALA Signal Butte, students practice the art of guiding others—sometimes from the front of the room, sometimes by lending a quiet hand.

  • Focused instruction. Short, age-appropriate lessons unpack real skills: how to speak with clarity, listen with intent, and own a decision—especially when it’s tough.
  • Real roles. From kindness lessons in the primary grades to student government in the upper grades, learners take on responsibilities that matter to their classmates right now.
  • Service woven in. Campus-wide projects—book drives, neighborhood clean-ups, food-bank partnerships—show students their choices ripple beyond school walls.

The result is a graduating sixth-grader who can run a meeting, rally a team, and understand that good leadership starts with character.

A Place You Can Trust

Step onto the Signal Butte campus and you’ll notice the calm first: tidy uniforms, friendly greetings, and clear routines that help kids settle in and focus. Those outward details reflect something deeper—a values-driven culture where respect isn’t optional and kindness is expected. Teachers hold firm, consistent boundaries while cheering every success, so students feel both safe and seen. In this steady atmosphere they can push their academic limits, forge real friendships, and practice the empathy that turns bright learners into responsible citizens ready to improve the world around them.

Our Mission: In support of the family, provide the best educational experience to as many students as possible in a moral and wholesome environment.

Glenn Way, Founder of American Leadership Academy

Glenn Way Headshot

Believing that strong families are central to national strength, Glenn Way formed American Leadership Academy as a place to nourish mind and spirit alike. No longer satisfied with schools that overlook moral development, he designed ALA to highlight leadership values and purposeful living.

His conviction stands: if children realize their potential as future spouses and parents, they stand a better chance of making a lasting positive mark on society.

We want our kids to learn why they were created—not just to become the best astronauts, plumbers, or mathematicians, but to become the best spouses, parents, citizens, and leaders. - Glenn Way, ALA Founder
