How do I become a substitute teacher?

  • In order to be a substitute teacher for ALA, you need a valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and a valid AZ Substitute Teaching Certificate. To find out how to obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card please visit the AZ Dept. of Public Safety website: http://www.azdps.gov/. To find out how to obtain a valid AZ Substitute Certification, please visit the AZ Dept. of Ed website: http://www.azed.gov/

Does ALA have a salary schedule?

  • ALA does not currently have a published salary schedule.

What are the requirements to teach at a charter school? In AZ? In NV?

  • ALA AZ schools are required to have Highly Qualified and/or Certified teachers as dictated by the AZ Dept. of Ed. If you are unsure about your current credentials, or whether or not you would be qualified for a position, feel free to contact us.
