December 2017
Dear Anthem South Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Happy Holiday Season! In this season of love and sharing, it is my hope we take a moment and look around at all the blessings we have in our lives. I want you to know how grateful I am for your support and the opportunity I have to work with your kids each and every day! So many memories make up this past year that are filled with joy and gratitude.
This month is dedicated to teaching our last RAISE value of Excellence. This month is an important time for us to combine all the values we have been taught to this point and find true excellence in all we do! We understand that excellence is not a destination, but rather a journey on our path to becoming the leaders of tomorrow. I challenge each student and family to find evidence of all of our values we have learned about this year in aspects of your life. Look for: Respect, Accountability, Integrity, and Service in your homes and within your families. When we find our kids showing these valuable leadership traits, only then will Excellence find its home in our actions, attitudes, and behaviors. I like to think that Excellence is the sum of all our other values. Thank you for your continued support in our efforts to RAISE Leaders!
I do need to enlist your support on one important topic starting now and going into 2018. Will you please take a moment and review our handbook policy for dress code? As we seek Excellence this month, reviewing our dress code policy will help us preserve an imperative part of our mission at ALA, to provide “…a moral and wholesome environment.” We recognize the value of wearing the uniform and that it represents something greater than all of us. I enjoy teaching your kids what the ALA logo on our uniform means. If you look carefully you will find pillars within our logo. Those pillars stand for strength and become a structure to build our values from. People mention all the time when they see our logoed shirt on our kids, whether at school or out in the community, they take notice. They take notice because your kids act and behave with a leadership mindset when they don our uniforms. So, parents please take a moment and help your kids ensure they are following our dress code. Our young men need their shirts tucked at all times. It should be free from wrinkles and yesterday’s dirt. Our young ladies should be mindful of the length of their skirts when they wear them as part of their uniform. Those are just a few examples of some challenges we are asking for parents’ help on.
Excellence represents a wonderful chance to make new commitments to new standards, as well as, recommit to ones where we may have fallen short. The good news is, we all understand that it is our mission, vision and values that separate us from other schools. It is because of our partnership in upholding these ideals dear, we realize just how we can grow closer as an Anthem family.
Thank you so much for your partnership and continued trust in me!
Happy Holidays and I wish you and your family a safe and Happy New Year!
Warm regards,
Bryan Foster
