ALA Virtual Offers In Person Learning Centers to Rural Communities

ALA Virtual students reside in communities where access to stable internet connection and approved testing centers can be challenging to obtain. Learning Centers may provide K-12 students with a safe and secure environment, access to a reliable internet connection, and where students may be able to participate in peer-to-peer activities, in-person discussions and other activities with any of the ALA Virtual teachers and/or tutors. Additionally, ALA Virtual Learning Centers may serve as an approved location where ALA Virtual students may participate in state assessments as well as district benchmark and unit assessments.

ALA Sierra Vista Site Coordinator and Dean of Students

Fayith Dever

Mrs. Dever has a passion for music, sports, service, and family that resonate in all she does. Her many experiences in schools across Arizona have prepared her to interact with students from all experiences in life. She played volleyball, softball, and even soccer on an all-boys team. Music also played a role in her character development as she learned to play the violin and was selected for the Tucson Junior Strings.

Mrs. Dever’s career began in the medical field in the PCCU at Tucson Medical Center and many years later as the nurses assistant of her children’s school. As the Dean of Students at American Leadership Academy Virtual Sierra Vista, Mrs. Dever can devote her time and passion to education, learning and love to the students and their lifelong learning. “Kids find joy in everything. I love that every child learns and thinks differently. I believe in the R.A.I.S.E values (Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Service, Excellence) and I incorporate those into my everyday life. As the Dean, I will always work to support the children in any way I can academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe that character builds leaders. I hope to show each child that they can be a leader. I know teachers are essential in the development of these precious children, and great teachers and staff like we have here at ALA can make all the difference in the world for these kids. I am honored to be a part of your child’s journey and I will always give my all.”
