Week 35
Cecilia Price

Here are your updates for week 35:

Weekly Homework- Study state capitals, math facts, reading log, spelling menu, and math lesson if they didn't finish in class. Also, please check and sign agendas each evening.

State Capitals- The final cumulative test is Friday May 14. This round of tests is matching all the states and capitals as well as labeling the states on a map (they will have a word bank). They have a study guide as well as flashcards to practice at home, but there are also some fun games online you can google.

ABC Countdown to Summer- Check out our Countdown to Summer calendar (see attached).

BizTown Interviews- We are currently in our BizTown unit and we are preparing for our virtual simulation on Wednesday May 19. In an effort to keep it as realistic as possible, we actually have the students interview with their teacher for the job they would like to have. These interviews will be held on Tuesday May 11. We are wanting this to resemble a real interview, so we are asking students to dress up. We do not want you to go out and buy a whole new outfit, so just a nice dressy outfit that you already have is great. In class, we compared it to "Sunday best" and discussed what professional dress means. Students will still need to follow ALA modesty with everything being knee-length, no sleeveless, and only closed toe/closed heel shoes. If a student cannot dress for this, he or she will just be expected to be in regular ALA uniform for the day. Girls can wear dresses or dress pants.

Environmental Form: It is not ALA's Policy to allow teacher requests. However, if your child has certain environmental needs for the coming school year, you may ask for an Environmental Request Form from the front office.

Otter Pops- Otter pops will be sold every Friday for $.50

Grades- Grades can always be checked on Infinite Campus. Feel free to email me if you have questions or concerns about a grade.
