Ms. Samantha Nordan is honored and excited to serve as the very first Elementary Director at American Leadership Academy Johnston. In her nearly 15 years of experience in public education both at the school and district levels, she has learned that her passion for education includes not only the growth of all students, but also supporting and empowering teachers and families as well. She has a bachelor's degree in Communications from NC State University, a Master’s in Elementary Education from Campbell University, and holds additional certifications in reading instruction. She began her career teaching first grade where she quickly realized her true heart for education. After five years in the classroom, and a desire to become a more integral part of the decisions around systems and structures in the school, she became an intervention coach supporting third, fourth, and fifth grade students. Later she moved to a district-level coaching position where she supported multiple elementary schools with district initiatives and school improvement. She firmly believes in the power of the RAISE values of ALA and is passionate about building relationships with all stakeholders in order to create the best educational experience for students and their families. She was born and raised in Clayton, NC and now lives in Benson, NC. She enjoys spending free time with her family, reading a good book, riding on the boat, and relaxing on the beach. Ms. Nordan is excited to be part of the wonderful things to come here at ALA Johnston.
