At American Leadership Academy, we take our responsibility to educate seriously. In fact, it is our mission to provide the best educational experience to as many students as possible in a moral and wholesome environment. Our curriculum is designed to fulfill that mission.

Read to Achieve
In North Carolina, the Read to Achieve law is designed to make sure that all students are reading at or above grade level by the end of third grade. Throughout the year, third graders take reading assessments such as the Beginning-of-Grade test, the End-of-Grade test, or the Read to Achieve test. A proficient score on any of these assessments shows that a student is ready to move on to the next grade.
If a student is not yet proficient, there are additional ways to demonstrate success, including completing a reading portfolio, taking an alternative assessment, or attending a summer reading camp. For students who continue to need support, extra help is provided either during summer programs or in the following school year to ensure steady progress in reading.
