Board Members

Kyle Shrauger, Board Chair
Kyle Shrauger's enthusiasm for lifelong learning has led to multiple professional certifications, dual bachelors degrees in business and marketing, a masters degree in cloud computing, and an executive MBA. He has a passion for hockey and can often be found playing or coaching at the local rinks with his wife and three children. Having founded one of the fastest-growing IT consulting firms in the nation, Kyle brings an entrepreneurial spirit with strong business acumen to ALA Monroe. Kyle is excited to see the kids at ALA Monroe grow into becoming community leaders, develop RAISE values, and graduate with real-world skills.
John Lynch, Secretary/Treasurer
John Lynch is a Managing Director at First Tryon Advisors, specializing in municipal financial advisory services for educational and not-for-profit organizations. With over 30 years of banking experience—much of it focused on education, healthcare, and general not-for-profit companies—he brings deep sector knowledge and a collaborative, mission-driven approach. For the past 25 years, John has been committed to supporting educational institutions—a passion that led to his service on the ALA Board. He pairs this dedication with strategic insight and a team-oriented mindset to help learning communities thrive. Outside of work, John enjoys golf, hiking, and time with his wife, grandchildren, and golden-doodle, Indy.


Yolonda Hill-Robinson, Director
Yolanda Robinson is a native of North Carolina; she was born and raised in Randolph county. She is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro (Go Spartans!) where she earned both a bachelors and masters degree in accounting. She currently owns and operates a nonprofit organization that helps to ensure that children enrolled in licensed day care centers and homes receive healthy and nutritious meals across the state of North Carolina. Prior to founding her nonprofit, Yolanda impacted the lives of children’s aged birth through 12 years of age as the owner and operator of a childcare center for 8 years.
Yolanda and her husband, Mark have been married for 35 years and are blessed to have two children, and two grandchildren. Yolanda loves to work with organizations across the state to champion the issues that are important to communities and families and are also close to her heart; one being education.
Mitch Prosser, Director
Mitch Prosser is a seasoned leader with nearly 25 years of experience in political strategy and public policy. He has played key roles in local, state, and federal election campaigns and has held leadership positions at organizations such as Frontline Policy Alliance in Georgia and Palmetto Family Council in South Carolina. In 2024, he joined the North Carolina Family Policy team, bringing a unique perspective shaped by nearly two decades of experience in both community leadership and political advising. Mitch is a skilled communicator with a passion for building strong relationships and driving cultural impact. He earned his degree from Carolina University in Winston-Salem. Mitch and his wife Christina have three sons—Ethan, Connor, and Graham. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, college football, and reading.


Nicholas Roberts, Director
Nicholas B. “Cole” Roberts is an attorney with Hutchens Law Firm in Raleigh, where he helps individuals and organizations navigate legal and regulatory matters with care and integrity. Originally from Durham, Cole’s background includes work in public service at the White House and U.S. House of Representatives, as well as leadership in law and policy studies. He brings that same sense of service and purpose to his community, believing that strong schools and family engagement are at the heart of thriving communities. A proud husband and father, Cole enjoys spending time with his wife, Kara, and their children, Blake and Mila, exploring the outdoors, and supporting educational opportunities that help students succeed.
