What is a Charter School?
Publicly funded but operating with greater autonomy, charter schools differ from traditional public schools by having increased flexibility. They are initiated through a charter, which is a performance agreement outlining the school's mission, programs, goals, and assessment techniques. Their purpose is to promote innovation and provide diverse educational choices suited to their community's specific needs.
